We live and fly our pigeons in the Swansea Valley, which is located in south Wales. We race widowhood cocks, celibate hens, natural old birds and darkness young birds. At the start of each season we start racing with about 21 widowhood cocks,10 celibate cocks,18 celibate hens and 80 young birds. We have been top prize winners at our present club for the last 4 years and also inland federation winners for 2005 and 2006.Also combined average winners in 2005.
We have been top prize winners in every club we have flown for the last 10 years. Our birds win at 71 miles and 402 miles and in 2008 we hope they go a little further.Birds have been brought in to fly up to 600 miles and we are very pleased with them and have very high hopes for them.
We have been flying pigeons for many years but moved to where we are now in 2000 and found it hard to settle the older birds but new strains were bought and tested to the limit, our birds are added to every year and feel that we have the best birds we have ever owned with a very good base of birds to win races from 70 to 500 miles. We concentrate on racing from 70 to 350 miles with our widowhood cocks, but with the intention of racing hens and cocks on the celibate system for 2008 we will push our range up to 500 miles and maybe 600miles.
Up to now all our old birds have been raced on the widowhood system but feel that the hens are wasted, Our hens are by far the best as young birds and should have the opportunity to prove their worth as yearlings. We cross most of our strains each year and feel that they are better racers doing this, a select few are kept pure for breeding and selling. We breed about 120 young bird each year with 80 going into our race team and the remainder are sold to regular buyers and some are given to top flyers to try.
Thank everyone for visiting this site and hope you enjoy.
Have a super season Anthony and Bryan
